RADIANCE PEELS

This a salicylic acid-based facial chemical peel for all skin types that exfoliates and helps improve overall complexion. The Blue Peel improves a range of skin concerns, including photodamage, and results in an overall improvement in texture and tone. This peel provides instant radiance—tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin after just 1 use, however a series of 4 to 6 peels provides best overall results.

How does it work?

After cleaning your skin with our special Blue Peel Prep Solution our skin care nurse will then apply the Blue Peel typically to your face and neck. A mild burning sensation will occur that generally lasts only a few minutes. Then you may experience a bluish tint to your skin that usually washes off in 12 to 24 hours. The procedure takes about 20 minutes and does not require sedation. Our skin care professionals will advise you on how many peels are needed to give you the best result.

The Blue Peel works by forcing your dead skin cells up to the surface where they are then shed. At the same time it stimulates collagen production underneath your skin. The special ingredients of the peel, which include salicylic, glycolic, and lactic acids work to clean out your pores and refresh your skin cells.

What to expect after your peel?

Depending on the strength and depth of the peel, you will experience light swelling following the procedure. Within 2 to 3 days, your skin will begin to peel. This peeling continues over the next several days. The peeling is mild in nature and there is no downtime from it. By Days 7 to 10, your skin should be healed.

After a treatment with Blue Peel RADIANCE, you will need to care for your skin to maximize and maintain results. The single most important thing to remember after any chemical peel is to wear non-chemical sun protection (SPF 35 or higher) at all times.

We will also provide you with after-care instructions following your peel to help you maintain your skin appropriately.

How is the Blue Peel Radiance different from other peels?

Other alpha-hydroxy peels and other superficial skin procedures do not allow us to precisely control the depth of the peel. The Blue Peel Radiance is different because it gives us much more control on the depth of the skin we are treating. By selecting the number of layers to apply to your skin, we can accurately tailor the chemical peel process to your skin’s individual needs. The Peel also gives us flexibility in treating various parts of your body including the face, neck, chest, hands, back, arms, and legs.

What skin types can the Blue Peel Radiance treat?

What makes the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance so great is that it’s special formulation makes it safe for all skin types to enjoy the benefits of the peel. We can safely treat African-Americans, Asians, Hispanics and other darker skin types with our anti-aging and restorative skin care treatments.

How many peels do I need?

Though results can be seen with a single Blue Peel Radiance treatment, optimal results are usually achieved with a series of 4-6 peels. This will result in significant skin repair and give you a healthy glow to your skin. The peel works great not only as an active treatment, but also as a preventative treatment. Each peel can be repeated as often as every two weeks, if necessary, for damaged skin. Our skin care specialists will recommend a personalized skincare regimen to give you the best results.

How badly will I peel?

The skin peeling associated with the Blue Peel Radiance is a very light one. Peeling usually starts around days 2-3 after your peel. By days 7 to 10, your skin should be healed. The peeling is easily hidden by moisturizer. In some cases, the peel is virtually invisible.

How long is a treatment?

It’s quick! Application of the Blue Peel takes about 15-20 minutes. There is no downtime with the procedure. Most patients feel clean and refreshed immediately after the treatment is done.
